Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I come to therapy:

The typical frequency of sessions is once a week for 50 minutes; however there is flexibility  depending on your needs and preferences.

How Long Does Psychotherapy Take To Work?

What Can I Expect In Our First Appointment?

Typically, I will go over paperwork and answer any questions you have. The first session is a really a way to meet each other and see if I am good fit for you. If you are new to therapy we’ll talk about that and what would be helpful for you to feel comfortable with the process. I’ll ask lots of questions about what you want to work on, what you want from treatment, where you are in life, and where you came from. There is no rush in the process so it may take 1-2 sessions because I want to make sure I really get to know more about you and yours, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

What is Evidence-Based Psychotherapy?

Not all types of psychotherapy are equal. While all therapeutic models focus on developing a warm, empathic relationship, evidence-based therapies strongly emphasize reducing symptoms sustainability. I utilize therapy that research has empirically found to encourage the most positive outcomes.
